About me
Hello!
I'm a paediatric Speech and Language Therapist offering assessment, advice and therapy to help children with communication difficulties in the South Oxfordshire area.
I worked for 20 years within the NHS in a variety of settings with a range of age groups (from 2-16 years) - the past 10 years within the Mainstream Schools Service, supporting primary school children and secondary aged young people. In April 2023 I established my independent practice in order to work more closely with children and their families.
I provide support with assessment, advice and therapy for children with:
- Early language difficulties
- Speech sound delay/disorder
- Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
- Dyspraxia / Childhood Apraxia of speech
I work with children at home and/or in their nursery/school. I’m passionate about helping children communicate and pride myself on providing high quality, evidence-based and enjoyable therapy. Children learn best when they’re having fun! As a mum of teenagers I’m very aware of the pressures upon families, and work in partnership with parents to support their child’s progress and to achieve their goals. Resources and motivating activities are provided within therapy sessions so that further practice at home can be carried out. I strive to make my sessions engaging with fun activities and practical advice. If your child already has an NHS speech therapist then I am more than happy to liaise with them so I can compliment the treatment they are already receiving.
I have a MSc in Language Pathology from the University of Reading. I am a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). I am committed to maintaining my Continuing Professional Development through attending courses, further training and attending Clinical Excellence Networks groups.
